CUFF ROYALE Class Runs August 25 to October 22nd, 2017. We will be making a hollow formed cuff. This is an ADVANCED class. Students should posses the ability to problem solve soldering and sawing issues. Lots of precise measuring cutting and soldering required. We will etch a cuff and use a rolling mill to fabricate the components. You must have access to a rolling mill, or find someone to step roll housing and tongue components for you to take this class.
Several specialty files and oval and round bracelet mandrels are needed. You must have a proper torch as this will require a lot of heat, (AIr plus gas no butane) watch my video on torches and tanks in the free videos section.
In this class we will make a etched, hollow formed cuff with a cradle hinge and box clasp with safety catch! Awesome skills to have! Within 24 hours of purchasing the class you will get the supply list , so sign up early!

About this class: This is an intermediate class. You will learn to ETCH and create bezel settings for fancy faceted stones, oval and teardrop (pears) and tube settings. You will also learn to make a riveted bails. I'll teach you how to saw and cut straight bezel shanks in 20g silver. You should already have a basic metalsmith tools, but if you don't of course the expense for tools will be higher. Watch my video on Intro to metal smithing, and torches in the free vids section.
In this class I will demonstrate how to form oval and pear shapes using only pliers, but will also demonstrate using mandrels., they are not mandatory but you may wish to purchase mandrels in the shapes of your stones. Tear drop and Oval mandrels vary in size and you may find one is not sufficient. More will be covered in class. Some tool info : I also recommend you get a miter Jig for cutting straight bezel strips if you do not have a nice guilitoine shear,You need a foredom type flax shaft with a foot pedal, set of good files, a set of assorted burs. This will be a fun class! We will do some wire forming, build and solder a hollow box clasp, a little organic fusing of heavy gauge fine silver, and setting a flat-backed cabochon. This is for advanced beginners to intermediate levels, You will need use a proper torch, bail making pliers and jewelers pliers to form the bracelet links, as well as a basic silver smithing tools.

COWBOYS & INDIANS 3 STAMPED PENDANT
COWBOYS AND INDIANS BEGINS 6/20 ends 7/28/17 This is a REALLY fun class! Lots of soldering and building! We are using Metal stamps & stampings to build and design a 3 part drop pendant! We will decorate sterling silver Indian and southwestern stampings which you can purchase already stamped, or purchase the actual stamps to make them.
You will need a proper torch (oxygen + propane or acetylene/air please visit my free videos section of my site and watch "torches and tanks" if you need help there. We will decorate the stampings with southwestern border stamps if you choose to.
No etching no rolling mills! Regular silversmithing tools are mostly used in this class, you may need a a miter jig or tube jig and setting burs to cut the tube settings, You can stamp or not your choice... but if you do you will need a small anvil or bench block and a heavy hammer.

LKV online class BOHO CUFFS!
Level : INTERMEDIATE This is an online class, BOHO CUFFS BEGINS 5/08/17 ends 6/20/17. You can enjoy from your home and work at your own pace! The class is only viewable only during the dates above, you may not access it after 7/17/16 it will be gone and it is NOT downloadable. You will need a proper torch, acetylene or propane+oxygen. Please watch my torches and tanks video in the FREE video section of this website.
In this class you will learn to etch silver, form a synclastic cuff, solder on filigree wire, embellishments and stone settings. I will show you how to set will set 4 cabochons and learn how to make a tapered cone setting OR a round faceted setting for the center!
To make the center cone setting, you will need a 17 degree Bezel Block tool with round holes that have 10 & 11 mm sized holes. Should you choose NOT to make the cone setting and buy the bezel block, I have included instructions for a non tapered faceted stone setting also! Of course you may also use or other decorations of your choice your cuff like the example on the left with only silver and flowers. ETCHING CLASS is also included. And best of all NO expensive forming tools are needed!

MALTESE RINGS ONLINE CLASS
MALTESE RINGS ONLINE CLASS BEGINS 5/28/17 ends 07/01/17 Registration opens 5/14/17. This is a very cool ring and works great with most any types of stone settings. I will give you 4 different pattern templates to etch on to your metal. Etching video will also be included. Learn to make these rings in time for Holiday sales in your shops! If you take the class you have permission to sell what ever you make from my class designs!
I'll show you how to fabricate 2 oval bezels and cut the seats with a bur. I will show you how to set and MODIFY a pre made basket setting which will be on the supply list for the center stone, it's much easier than making one from wire and very inexpensive :)
You will learn how to file the bezels and settings to fit the curve and we will cover tube settings, solder them all on together, polish and set the stones. While i do not give out supply lists until you sign up, be advised that you will need a proper acetylane or propane+oxy torch. (see my torches and tanks in the Free video section) Special tools required :Burs and a miter jig and oval bezel mandrel in addition to basic metal smith tools, you will also need a flex shaft as you can not properly cut seats with a hand held dremel tool. I'm excited to announce Passionate Hinges! Registration begins March 20th 2017. Class officially begins 4/2/17 and ends 5/12/17. This NOT a beginner class. We will do a lot of sawing and soldering, and layering! Hinges require patience, perseverance, and soldering experience. You can not take this class with out a proper torch (oxygen tank+propane or acetylane+oxy tank - no butane). Please visit my free videos section on Torches and tanks if you need help with torches. You can ETCH (etching video is included) or use a rolling mill for texturing.
I do not give out materials and supply lists until you purchase the class, You will need mostly basic silver smithing tools, files, flex shaft, pliers/mandrels, soldering setup and a Tube Jig which you may or may not already have. RINGS BOHEME ONLINE CLASS PREVIEW!
This is great class for all levels!with some soldering experience. A beautiful twist on a classic "spinner" style ring. You will learn to create a texture on a ring shank 3 ways: by hammering, etching or using metal patterns in a rolling mill. (NO rolling mill needed). I'll teach you how to successfully flare a ring, make a good solder join, and create a custom beautiful round bezel setting for a faceted stone, decorate it with gallery wire and and set it on a curve. This class is quick and the project can be completed in one to 2 days! You will need a proper torch (oxy/propane or Acetylane) and basic tools such as flex shaft, good files,dapping punch set a few Burs, set to name a few.
